Those weekend pager call outs....
Saturday evening saw us called to a 15m launch, which had broken down on the way back from Hauturu/ Little Barrier. We'd had KR in the water, engines running, when the owner got the launch engine started and we were stood down.
However, on Sunday morning, the next call out was to the same launch, this time anchored in the head of Bon Accord harbour, this time unable to retrieve the anchor.
We gathered the crew and nearly made it to Bon Accord, to then be advised they had actually retrieved the aforementioned anchor and no longer required assistance.
By now, being a bit curious, we chugged up the harbour to check they were OK. They'd given up on having a peaceful weekend afloat and were returning to Gulf Harbour, before anything else went wrong.
We opted to park up at Kawau Boat Club to do the End of Month Checks, before retrieving Marcus to run through his drills and get "summer rescue ready" after a 6 month break.
Then back to our berth and complete the checks, before rain helped wash down the boat ready for the next event.
Thanks everyone - welcome back Marcus.
