Seacocks

Our first callout today at 3:15pm was to a jet ski just off Moturekareka with 2 POB. They had a mechanical problem.
They'd had a great afternoon then their engine refused to restart. The weather was good with light winds. We went off and found them quickly, slowly drifting away from the island.
We quickly took the two people on board and hooked the ski up to our tow line.
The best news was that the jet ski had a seacock, and secondly the driver knew all about it and had shut it. This meant that we had no water flowing through the ski to ruin the engine and we were able to tow at greater that 5 knots. Any Jet ski owner should find out about this. On some it is an optional extra and can save a lot of time and also potential damage to your engine if one is fitted, and you need our services.
We then towed them back to Stanmore Bay and onto the beach. Back home for just after 1800 to put the boat to bed. Or so we thought…. See the next couple of posts,
Thanks to Andrew, Craig, Sean and Nick for their turn out and professional handling of the situation, and Airberth Al for the launch.
