What is the saying about the best laid plans?

We were paged for the first job at 1102 hrs, to a boat in Bon Accord Harbour which had electrical issues. It took us a while to get them started and now I understand the frustration of auto electrician versus boat builder!

The next job was to 3 young chaps North West of Little Barrier Island who had an oil level sensor issue and the outboard only wanted to run in short bursts. We hooked these gents up for their first experience behind Kawau Rescue for a 2 hour (ish) tow back to Mahurangi Harbour.

On saying our good byes we headed for Music at Mansion. We were going to be a tad late, but at least we would get there.

Upon tying up to the wharf we were tasked to another vessel with fuel problems south east of Beehive Island. One of our "handy" crew was able to bleed the fuel system and get them back underway - another happy customer.

At this point after bouncing around for almost 6 hours we decided to head for home. On approaching the entrance to Matakana river, we were flagged down by a grateful family whose engine had become stuck on full throttle only! Not a good problem to have when you are approaching the 5 knot area! It was perfect timing for the two of us and we took them alongside and to the ramp at Sandspit Yacht Club.

Was great to help these 4 crews of happy Coastguard members and get them home safely.
