Those sticky solenoids!

Skipper Paul reporting
Thursday 15 October 2026
The tasking on Thursday night was to a 40 ft yacht moored in North Cove. The battery was apparently flat.
The wind, at around 20-25 knots was making Kawau Bay fairly choppy as we crossed over to North cove. The westerly wind was firing straight into the cove opening where our customer was moored, first yacht in the bay and easy to find.
We quickly came alongside and Glen went across with the battery pack and disappeared down below. A few minutes later the engine fired into life and all was good with the world.
When Glenn returned he explained that the battery was fine but it was a sticky solenoid on the starter motor. Problem solved.
Off home, total time on the water just under 3 hours. Many Thanks to Al for lowering the boat ready for us and Glenn, Craig and Oli all of whom delayed their dinner to help out out . Great job.
